One small workshop. Now three factories.
Quality Metal Solutions makes a broad range of parts — from aftermarket automotive to food and pharmaceutical processing to commercial playground equipment, and just about anything else that comes through the door.
They started with a small fabrication team and a handful of machines. Today QMS runs three factories, two lasers, two presses and a dedicated fabrication factory. Ageing machinery that kept breaking down.
The equipment QMS was replacing had been running for around two decades. It was slow, less powerful, and — most costly of all — breaking down consistently. Every breakdown was lost time on the floor and a harder job staying competitive.

Installed without stopping production
During the install, QMS kept running on their other laser. Downtime was only a couple of hours while the new machine was loaded into the factory. Other than that, production never stopped.

Since the Han's went in, QMS has been cutting 50mm mild steel at great quality, alongside 32mm aluminium and 25mm stainless. Piercing and cutting speeds are noticeably quicker, the machine runs consistently without breaking down, and jobs move out the door at a much better timeframe.
When issues have come up after install, the Intermach team has been out the next day to sort them — responsive throughout.
Would QMS go back to the old tech? "We can't compete with the speed this machine's delivering," the team says. "The gains in speed and reliability are simply too big to give up."
